Richmond Villages Nantwich will be welcoming pupils from a primary school in Crewe on Friday, March 3.
In celebration of World Book Day, homeowners at the retirement village in Cheshire will be sharing stories with pupils of Wistaston Academy.
They will be reading books they loved when they were young – opening up a new world of children’s literature to another generation.
This event is one of many organised by the village for the local community.
There will also be a Shrove Tuesday fundraiser for the Nantwich Foodbank and an over-70s lunch club.
Jane Ann Stubbs, activities manager at Richmond Villages Nantwich, said, “Our homeowners always love it when the children come to visit, and they’re very excited to read to the pupils of Wistaston Academy. They also hope to help inspire the youngsters with a love of books and reading.
“We have a great community spirit here, and it’s lovely to have that reinforced by our homeowners who want to give something back to the community in this way.
“Reading is such an important part of anybody’s childhood, so if this event can help inspire the next generation to discover a love of reading then it will be incredibly worthwhile.”
