Audley Scarcroft Park, a luxury retirement village in West Yorkshire, has celebrated its official opening

The village was opened by Nick Sanderson, CEO of Audley Group, who was joined by The Lord Mayor of Leeds Councillor, Abigail Marshall Katung.

There were also  current and prospective property owners, their family and friends and members of the local community.

The village is situated at the heart of the ‘Golden Triangle’ formed by Ilkley, Harrogate and York and is home to 172 luxury one-and-two-bedroom properties, starting from £465,000.

These homes are focussed around the restored Grade II listed ‘Scarcroft Lodge’ which also houses Thackaray’s restaurant, bar, library, and Audley Club’s health and wellness spa including a gym and swimming pool.

Central to Audley’s approach is its commitment to help owners live long, independent and healthy lives with a focus on wellbeing.

Property owners automatically become a member of the Audley Club when they move into the village and can take part in a range of activities from regular coffee mornings, exercise classes, through to exploring new interests with flower arranging, photography, art groups just a few of the classes that take place across the villages.

The facilities and services, which includes CQC registered Audley Care, are also available to those living in the surrounding community.

“Our renovation of Audley Scarcroft Park has been a significant undertaking and one we’re incredibly proud to have completed,” declared Audley CEO Nick Sanderson. “We have been able to sympathetically restore the centrepiece building, Scarcroft Lodge, while creating further homes in and around the grounds.

“This is the second village we’ve opened in the beautiful county of Yorkshire as part of our mission to help people across the UK to live better, for longer. It has never been more important that we give people choice over where they want to live as they get older, and specifically provide options that place health and wellbeing at their core.

“We are looking forward to welcoming more owners to the village in the months to come.”

The Lord Mayor of Leeds Councillor, Abigail Marshall Katung added: “It was an honour to be at Audley Scarcroft Park to open the village to property owners and the local community. We’ve already seen through Audley Clevedon the benefits this type of housing can bring to the county and are so pleased to have more high-quality retirement living in the region.

“It has been brilliant to see for myself the excellent wellness facilities and properties available within the grounds and I know the locals will also relish the opportunity to come down and visit as the village becomes central to the community.”
